Walt Disney Signed Letter

Directly from the Office of Walt Disney!  Walt Disney has personally signed this letter on his desk in his famous office (preserved at the Disney Studio in Burbank today)!  Walt Disney politely sends his apologies for not being able to visit the recipient during a recent short trip to Vienna. 

The letter was written just weeks after Walt cut the ribbon on three major additions to Disneyland:  The Matterhorn Bobsleds, Submarine Voyage, and Disneyland Alweg Monorail all debuted in the summer of '59.

The letter is written on Walt Disney's private stationery with his name "Walt Disney" embossed on the letterhead.  The initials "tb" on the lower left identify the typist as Walt Disney secretary Tommie Blount (later Tommie Wilck after marriage).  In the movie "Saving Mr. Banks" Walt Disney's character played by Tom Hanks is heard addressing this secretary as "Tommie."

This Walt Disney letter is double authenticated!  It includes a Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentications and also includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.  In very fine condition with the usual mailing folds.  Item # 4693
