Walt Disney Autographed Goofy
Original Production Cel from "How To Swim"
 

An original cel actually used in the production of a classic 1942 Goofy cartoon, personally autographed by Walt Disney to an important political figure.  This art was actually photographed in the making of the Disney cartoon "How to Swim."  It was personally signed on the mat by Walt Disney and given to Pennsylvania Congressman Herman Eberharter.  You can read more about Congressman Eberharter here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herman_P._Eberharter

Includes an email from the former owner stating (in part):
I have "...an original cel from Goofy’s How to Swim which is signed by Walt. It was inscribed to a congressman. I bought it from a rare book dealer..."

When signing art like this, Walt Disney would choose a colored crayon from his desk which complimented a color in the cel.  In this case, a reddish color to match Goofy's silly bathing costume.  A great pose of Goofy being... well... goofy!  Today original production cels are prized by collectors as one of the most attractive and displayable of all Walt Disney autographed items.  Goofy is one Disney's "Fab Five" characters,  making this autographed showpiece highly desirable.  Overall age toning/discoloration of matte; minor paint chipping from cel.  Otherwise fine condition.  Framed, but without glass.  Measures approximately 15" x 14".  Includes the Phil Sears Collectibles Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity Certificate.  Item # 4903B, $6495
